The number of homeless female veterans has tripled in the last ten years and that number continues to rise at an alarming rate as more women enter military service.

Our Story

It all started when Margaret Queen-Flowers—Executive Director and Founder of the Genesis Joy House Homeless Shelter—was just 12 years old.

Genesis also assists homeless female veterans in taking stock of their life experiences. They are given practical and effective tools to take charge of their lives and transform their futures. We know that thousands of lives will be turned around through our programs.

  I’m still overwhelmed with joy, happiness and of course tears!! This is a beautiful organization filled with beautiful people who God has truly used to be a blessing, not only for my children and I but to countless of others for this holiday season!   I called Genesis Joy House seeking help for my sister. I had no idea of what to expect or do but after speaking with Mrs. Margarette, she pointed me in the right direction. She put me in contact with several organizations that was willing and able to help and she constantly followed up with me to see if I had gotten the help that I needed. Mrs. Margarette definitely goes above and beyond her call of duty, as she strives to give veterans the help that they deserves.   Thank you so much!! Margaret Flowers And her Help  team did an amazing job on helping me make sure my kids has a smile on their face this christmas.l had lost my job and also had to move.  I didn't have any money left for my kids for Christmas due to me having to move because my job lost. It really has been a hard year and my Miracle came for my family and l will along with my kids forever be greatful in our hearts .   I had the opportunity to speak with the Founder/CEO of “Genesis Joy House” in Warner Robins, GA and I must say she was very pleasant and the work she is doing to help Veterans in that area is amazing. If you are looking for an Organization to support or even if you support an Organization go and support this one also. The reward is great.
